Max George collapses over Tom Parker’s death in Scared of the Dark
Max George has publicly shared his grief following the death of his friend and The Wanted collaborator Tom Parker.
Parker died of glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor, in March 2022, two years after an incurable diagnosis.
He had been a member of the band since 2009, along with George, Jay McGuinness, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes.
George is currently taking part in Channel 4’s celebrity experiment. fear of the darkwhere familiar faces spend a week in complete darkness.
In the Wednesday edition (April 19) of the evening program, the unique Be sure to come dance The contestant spoke about learning about Parker’s poor health and prognosis.
“I was shooting a movie and it was the last day of shooting and my phone rang and it was Kelsey [Parker’s wife] and I was like, oh, that’s a nice surprise.”
George recalled the difficulties in understanding what Kelsey was telling him about Parker’s health, as well as the donations and contributions that helped prolong his friend’s life.
“The beauty was that people from outside our group and friends, even her, pitched in to help. Ed Sheeran did too. Yeah, that probably saved Tom’s life for a year.”
George, 34, has been candid about the impact Parker’s illness and death had on him.

“How do you deal with it? There’s no cure for that, so you just learn to move on with your life I guess. But deal with it, definitely not. I don’t think I’ll ever get through this, you know.

“One of the last things I said to him was – I thanked him for making my life so much better than it could ever have been, you know, like this whole journey in the band.
“He was my best friend,” he added before beginning to cry.
Since Tom’s death, Kelsey has been demanding more funding for brain cancer research. In February, she celebrated her first Valentine’s Day without her late husband with a heartfelt Instagram post.
