Medford Township crews rescue missing dog Dylan from drain pipe

MEDFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (WPVI) – A happy ending to a dramatic rescue in South Jersey.

A dog missing for a week in Medford Township is now safe.

Eight-year-old Dylan disappeared from his foster family a week ago.

Some neighbors saw him in the drainpipe last Sunday but thought he had come out and run away.

As it turned out, he was down there the whole time without food or water.

Crews began a rescue operation around 4 p.m. Saturday and were able to retrieve Dylan by 1 a.m. Sunday.

“At first they couldn’t do the road because it was too expensive. The neighbor Mark said, you know, do what you can, if you have to dig up my lawn, go ahead and do this,” said Hardie’s Shellinda Jericho’s Wish Animal Rescue.

Local police and fire crews responded to free Dylan.

Jericho’s Wish Animal Rescue is now asking for donations as Dylan’s medical bills at Mount Laurel Animal Hospital are expected to be high.
