After no one won Friday’s $379 million jackpot, the estimated grand prize for the next spin is $400 million.
WASHINGTON — The Mega Millions jackpot is once again soaring after hitting a record high this summer.
After no one won Friday’s $379 million jackpot, the estimated grand prize for the next spin is $400 million, with a cash option of $216.2 million.
Friday’s winning numbers were 8-19-53-61-69 with Mega Ball 19 and Megaplier at 4.
Although no one won the jackpot, two players in California and Pennsylvania would collect $1 million after matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
Players must match all five numbers and the golden Mega Ball number to win the jackpot. Players face astronomical odds to win the jackpot: 1 in 302.5 million.
Next drawing is Monday, December 12 at 11 p.m. ET.
It’s been a record-setting year for lottery games in the US
After months of hype, a single Powerball ticket in California won a record $2.04 billion jackpot in November. The winners have yet to appear or be determined. California law requires winners to go public, but they have one year to do so.
Last summer, a Mega Millions jackpot nearing a record $1.377 billion sent Americans into a lottery frenzy in July. An Illinois winner took home the grand prize. The two came forward to request it, but chose to remain anonymous, which is allowed in Illinois but not in every state.
In October, the jackpot rose again to nearly half a billion dollars. Two ticket holders in california and Florida matched all six Mega Millions numbers, splitting an estimated $494 million prize between the two.
