No ticket matched all the numbers in Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw, and the jackpot will now surpass the $1 billion mark in the next draw.
Friday night’s drawing of the multi-state game is priced at $1.02 billion, making it the second highest prize ever in Mega Millions history. It comes with a cash option of 602.5 million
Tuesday night’s draw was the third-biggest ever with $830 million, or a cash option of $487.9 million.
Tuesday’s winning numbers are: 7 – 29 – 60 – 63 – 66 Mega Ball: 15
Even without a big winner, there were a few ticket buyers who will be a little richer after Tuesday’s drawing. Lottery officials say nine tickets were sold that matched five of the six winning numbers — each worth at least $1 million or more.
One of these tickets sold in Ohio with the Megaplier option is worth $3 million.
The California Lottery says a ticket sold in Baker that matches five numbers will have a $2.9 million payout. California uses a pari-mutuel system with payouts that differ from other states.
The other seven tickets are believed to be worth $1 million each. They were sold in Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Ohio.

The jackpot got so big because there hasn’t been a winner for three months. Those 29 consecutive draws where no one matched all six numbers have allowed the jackpot to grow gradually from its starting point of $20 million in April.
Mega Millions is played every Tuesday and Friday night. In the game’s 20-year history, 221 players have hit the Mega Millions jackpot.
