Megan Thee Stallion doesn’t approve of Drake making music related to her trauma.
She objects to a lyric that appears on Drake’s “Circo Loco,” a track from “Her Loss,” his new album together with fellow rapper 21 Savage. The album, which was released overnight, features the following “Circo Loco” lines: “That lie about getting shots but she’s still a stud / She doesn’t even get the joke but she’s still smiling.”
Stallion tweeted her frustration late Thursday night.
“Stop using my shooting for clout! Since when is it cool to joke about women getting shot! You n—s especially RAP N—S ARE LAME! Ready to boycott shoes and clothes but black woman gets screwed for saying one of y’all homeboys abused her,” she said in one series from tweetssay the facts will speak for themselves.
These facts will soon come to light in court: Rapper Tory Lanez is currently under house arrest pending his November 28 trial on charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle related to his alleged gunfight is due to stallion in October 2020.
Lanez was placed under house arrest and electronically monitored last week after he assaulted singer August Alsina in Chicago in September. He had previously seen his bail increased from $250,000 to $350,000 after violating a stay-away order by posting social media messages the judge ruled related to Stallion.
Stallion finally spoke about the alleged shooting in an April interview with CBS and shared her version of events.
She and Lanez were close friends at the time, and according to Stallion, at the time of the early-morning altercation, she was driving in a car being driven by Lanez’s driver. When a backseat argument started, she asked the driver to pull over and let her out of the car, she said. After she got out, Lanez allegedly fired a gun at her feet. She later underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from both feet.
She referenced this interview overnight on Twitter.
“People attack me, y’all go into it, I’m defending myself now, I’m doing too much…every time it never stops and that DID NOT happen until I came out and said I was shot,” she tweeted Thursday night, adding that people shouldn’t mess with her.
Embattled rapper-designer Kanye West, legal name Ye, wasn’t thrilled with “Circo Loco” either.
“I’ve already done enough, I’ve given this man his flowers several times,” Ye tweeted over lyrics suggesting that after a three-year feud, Drake has reconciled with his sworn enemy (Ye) just to please rap impresario J. Prince and for his track “Mob Ties.”
