Memorial Day events across Middle TN

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WKRN) – Many Memorial Day events are taking place across Middle Tennessee today to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Events begin at 9 a.m. this morning at the Maury County Courthouse with a reading from Flanders Fields, prayer and a wreath.

A ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Dickson County, where retired Colonel Jeff Eby will speak at the War Memorial Building. Those in Dickson County can then go to Union Cemetery to watch Lisa Bowen “Taps” at 3:00 p.m

In Montogomery County, the Veterans Service Organization is scheduled to hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony at 10:00 a.m. at the William O. Beach Civic Hall in Clarksville. County and city officials will make remarks, and retired Army Brigadier General Scott Brower will deliver the keynote address. A wreath laying ceremony also takes place.

The Williamson County Office of Veterans will host a Memorial Day service at Five Points in Franklin beginning at 10 a.m. The service is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.

Davidson County will hold a wreath-laying ceremony at Nashville National Cemetery for the first time since 2019. The event is being hosted by the Davidson County Veterans Coordinating Council and is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m Memorial Day events across Middle TN
