Memorial service for longtime correctional officer Jay Miller

Miller passed away on February 11 after a long battle with complications of COVID-19.
OLYMPIA, Wash. – A memorial service will be held Wednesday for longtime Correctional Officer Jay Miller following his death.
Miller passed away on February 11 after a long battle with complications of COVID-19.
A memorial service will take place at Church for All Nations at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Miller’s departure is considered in the mission and will be honored as such.
Miller has been with the Department of Corrections for more than 30 years and was honored in 2018 with the Correctional Officer of the Year award for Stafford Creek. He was also on the Emergency Response Team at the Correctional Center for Women in Washington (WCCW) and is recognized for assisting the Seattle Police Department during the World Trade Organization Conference in the late 1990s.
WCCW, along with Behind The Badge, opened a memorial fund account at Sound Credit Union called the “Jay Miller Memorial Fund.” Donations will be used to help cover memorial costs.
