Mercer County, New Jersey pizza man Salvatore Mandreucci, ‘Sally Slices,’ becomes viral TikToker

HAMILTON SQUARE, N.J. (WPVI) — A 25-year-old pizza maker in Mercer County has been cranking up TikTok — in a good way.

Salvatore Mandreucci has gone viral for his videos, which some might call cheeky and maybe a little cheesy. But it’s his words of inspiration that have everyone coming to Hamilton Square to taste the cake.

Fans of Sally Slices fly from everywhere to visit Marcello’s Pizza Grill to try their signature “Corleone” pizza, but they flock primarily to meet the social media sensation.

“All my life, everyone has always told me that I can entertain, I can make a lot of people laugh,” Salvatore said. “I was like, ‘Let me keep following TikTok. Let me start making videos. Maybe it’ll go somewhere, right?'”

A year later, Sally Slices is approaching three million followers. They come for the wise words of the pizza guy.

“I have one that says, ‘People know the price of everything but the value of nothing,'” he said. “That resonated with me. I had many problems growing up. This video has been viewed 10 million times. That’s when I knew that these inspirational quotes are a part of me that I can give to everyone.”

Ever since he added TikTok to his sauteing, cheese-making and dough-turning skills, Pizzaiola is now world-renowned as the “CEO of inspiration.”

Explaining all this to his Sicilian-born father, Marcello, took a second.

“At first I thought he was wasting his time,” said Marcello. “But then he became so famous overnight that we have nowhere to go. Everybody knows him!”

Fans are also calling the pizzeria hoping to get Salvatore on the phone.

“On a busy night it gets annoying because people want to talk to Sal and I’m like, ‘No!’ say,” laughs his sister Gabriella, who also works in the family pizzeria.

‘Sally Slices’ now has merchandise like t-shirts and they ship their Sicilian cannoli across the country.

Salvatore is also a musician and has just released his first single on Spotify.

Next station? The big screen.

“It’s my big dream, it’s the big thing,” said Salvatore. “Right now I’m just spreading motivation and good vibes, which I like to do. But later it will happen. i will be on tv I’ll be in Hollywood one day.”

Marcello doesn’t doubt it, but right now he’s telling Salvatore to keep making pizza!

Salvatore also helps run the second family store in the Bustleton area of town.
