NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The school year has just ended, but it’s not the end of the school zones for the summer.
School zones are available again for summer classes from Thursday through June 30th.
These reduced speed limit zones apply to 33 elementary and middle schools. They take place in the morning and afternoon at the same time as the regular school year.
Signalmen will work in these school zones.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is advising motorists to slow down and keep an eye on the road.
“I want to remind everyone while in these school zones, distracted driving, stay away from your cell phones, it’s against the law, police officers will conduct enforcement and look for it, wear your seat belt but definitely distracted driving is.” something we’re seeing in school zones and they’re going to be enforcing that too,” said Sergeant Mark Denton
