Former Manchester City star Richards has established himself as one of TV’s most popular ex-professionals.

His easygoing manner and infectious laugh have made Richards a fixture on several shows.

But he brought even more tears to his eyes when he wore a bold yellow suit on Sky Sports.

The ex-England star was joined by Jamie Redknapp as he shared his thoughts on Man City’s win over Leeds and later Liverpool’s triumph over Brentford.

But it was his garish outfit that drew the most attention.

However, Richards explained that there was a reason for the robe – namely, that he had done it WON a bet while filming for the TV show A League Of Their Own.

Richards said: “Basically I won the bet on A League Of Their Own. We went to Southeast Asia.

“And whoever won had to wear this ridiculous thing that Jamie designed. How do I look?”

Pal Redknapp replied: “I’m very proud, I love the brown pants, I like the mushrooms on the vest.

“It’s beautifully done, Georgio Redknappio. I think, as you can see… honestly, I’m very proud of my work.”

Presenter Kelly Cates added, “I like when you design a bad taste outfit, all the colors go together.”

Richards then asked, “Do I pull it off then?”

Cates hilariously replied: “I wouldn’t say that.”

Fans were certainly tickled by Richards’ outfit, with one saying: “Fair play, got through his bet.”

Another laughed: “Not bad at all.”

One added, “This would look great on my chefs for my restaurant.”
