Michael Bisping wants Alex Pereira to call out Israel Adesanya with a win at UFC 276

Alex Pereira is set to fight Sean Strickland at UFC 276 on July 2, and Michael Bisping believes the kickboxer turned MMA fighter can earn the title thanks to an impressive win and a polished caption.

On the 400th episode of Believe You Me, Bisping said that Pereira’s KO win over current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya in 2017 put him ahead of many other opponents at 185 pounds. He encouraged Pereira to take advantage of his mic time like Michael Chandler did and called for a rematch against Adesanya if he beat Sean Strickland. Bisping says:

“If I were Pereira who took down Izzy in his preferred fighting style of kickboxing, you should believe he should. That would be three straight fights – he obviously has to get through. Strickland first Not an easy thing to do, Good Strickland, Strickland is a great grappler You don’t see much in the UFC but this man had a really tough ground fight. Pereira can be successful, he should definitely call out the champion. Because you have to think that’s what the UFC is going for.”

Alex Pereira is leading 2-0 in the UFC with both fights ending in impressive knockouts. More importantly, he has two wins against Israel Adesanya, one of which was a knockout win. The big obstacle for ‘Poatan’ at the moment is his position outside the official UFC rankings. A win over fifth-placed Sean Strickand is likely to put him in the top five on the list of opponents Adesanya has beaten.

Israel Adesanya about Alex Pereira. I’d love to see that fight someday in the UFC!

Israel Adesanya hopes Alex Pereira does well enough to win a title against him

Following Pereira’s violent knee KO win over Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268, Israel Adesanya discussed his opponent’s appearance in the UFC and how he hopes they can rematch. Adesanya says:

“One thing I noticed is that everyone holds the victory he has over me. Like it was all, all. But I hope he does well. I hope he does well through the ranks. In the next four games, I hope to see him.”

Since then, Adesanya beat Robert Whittaker at UFC 271 and now faces Jared Cannonier at UFC 276. So ‘The Last Stylebender’ thought a fight with Pereira could be coming relatively soon. Of course, if he beat Jared Cannonier, and Pereira beat Sean Strickland.

The only person who can stop Israel Adesanya is currently fighting in the UFC.Alex Pereira knocked out the middleweight champion in Stylebender’s last kickboxing bout.
