There are few modern Batman fans who don’t point to Michael Keaton’s role in Tim Burton’s role Batman (1989) and Batman returns (1992) as one of the best, if not the best, to play Batman.
So it’s reasonable that fans were excited for the 70-year-old actor’s return to the role, although the question of whether it would be the same character or a different one remains open given his new role to be in the expanded DC Universe would and where his previous representations fall.
But that question can’t be answered as his return is in doubt now that Warner Bros. Discovery is streamlining its DC Universe production.

Michael Keaton and Batgirl aren’t the only changes, as Zaslav also canceled DC’s CW series The Lightning End after season 9 and Miracle Twins canceled as they were about to start filming.
Zaslov reportedly wants to shift the DC movie universe to focus on Superman, meaning Sasha Calles super girl The film is also in doubt as she was expected to take Superman’s place.
In addition to these movements and possibilities, the release dates for Shazam! wrath of the gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom could change again.
