They were to be driven in a police car for the short journey from Ibiza National Police Headquarters to a courthouse on the island for the hearing.

The couple were formally questioned by investigators on Thursday following the drunken clash, but have not yet been charged with any crime.

Police arrested them on suspicion of committing “atentado contra la autoridad”, which includes offenses ranging from resisting arrest to assaulting an officer.

Jade and Hinkson face up to four years in prison and large fines if found guilty.

It is now up to an investigating judge to decide what charges the police charges against Jade and her lover are worth.

The pair were reportedly kicked out of La Oliva restaurant on Wednesday night “for causing trouble” after Hinkson insulted staff for refusing to serve him more drinks.

A video later surfaced showing him being topless and pulled down by seven officers in the old town of the party island of Ibiza.

Cops then came under scrutiny when Anthony and Jade, who became a grandmother in 2014, allegedly verbally abused them.

Hinkson reportedly shoved and shoved the cops as Jade allegedly shouted “stupid police” and waded in.

Sources claim she “pulled on a police officer, pushed and insulted him” before confronting other officers and allegedly scratching one.

Police on the island confirmed this morning: “The detainees arrested on Wednesday evening will be tried in court today.”

Before his arrest, Hinkson was seen acting “erratic” and swearing at a passerby before apparently buying a €2,100 (£1,800) designer dress as a gift for a waitress.

A witness claimed he “acted very strangely” when he bought the gold sleeveless outfit.

They added, “He harassed girls who were in the store and made comments to a girl who worked there.”

“It didn’t really make much sense. He said, ‘Give me the damn dress.’ He was really rude.

“Then he brought it back to the restaurant and tried to give it to the waitress. His behavior was so erratic that the restaurant manager decided to call the police.”

Neither Jade nor her boyfriend have been charged with a crime under Spanish law, as is common in Spain, where formal charges are only made shortly before the trial.

It was not immediately clear this morning whether the case would be dealt with in an expeditious process.

The other most likely option would be for the judge to release the jewelry designer and Hinkson on bail pending a closed-door trial pending an ongoing criminal investigation.

In that case, the judge could make the release subject to conditions including a ban on leaving Ibiza and a requirement to report to court every month or two.

Jade shared a social media post last week in which she poses on a sun lounger at the island’s chic Nobu Hotel.
