Microsoft won’t be left out of this fall’s hardware events calendar. The company will host a Surface event on October 12 at 10:00 am ET. While it’s not entirely clear what Microsoft plans to showcase beyond “devices,” we could get our first official look at the Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 in a couple of weeks. Some details about the upcoming products were leaked this week through retailer leaks.
Corresponding WinFuture, the devices will likely use 12th Gen Intel CPUs, although the Surface Pro 9 may have an ARM-based processor option with 5G support. Microsoft can offer up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM in both devices. There appear to be new color options as well.
Microsoft adds its name to a busy schedule of events. Amazon will host a hardware showcase on September 28th, while Google has scheduled a pixel event for October 6th. Apple is also expected to host a Mac and iPad-focused event in October.
