Miles Teller and Bowen Yang Dance to Lizzo in Charmin Bears Sketch

Miles Teller proved himself to be a comedy powerhouse when he launched the 48th season of Saturday night live as their first host. In an episode of Teller’s wonderfully funny skits, something happened no one saw coming: Teller dressed up as Charmin’s toilet paper bear and dancing to it Lizzo‘s “About the damn time”.

For comparison, the Charmin bears have been selling us all of our toilet paper for years, but what if one of them didn’t want to be a toilet paper pusher? What if your dreams went beyond your love of paper? When Toby (Teller) tells his family that he doesn’t want to go to Toilet Paper College (TPC) and wants to be a dancer, it all goes over… well, not great. For fans of Teller, the sketch felt like a small salute to his role on the show Unbound make new. Given how much these little toilet paper loving bears dance, it’s interesting that they aren’t happy that Toby wants to dance.

Throughout the sketch, Toby explains to his family that he doesn’t want to do his BFA (Bachelor of Flushing Arts) but his father Keith (Kenan Thompson) worked in the toilet paper mine for forty years to provide for his family and doesn’t want this son to give up his future by not going to TPC. But for Toby, his love is dancing and he needs to show his family that he is a talented dancer who will make money from his dancing and bring joy into his own life.

Halfway through the sketch, William (Bowen Yang) comes in to help Toby convince his family of his dance dreams. Toby tells his family they met at dance class, and Keith agrees that once Toby proves he’s a talented dancer, he can give up TPC. Toby does exactly that, performing the “About Damn Time” dance that TikTok has taken over, and honestly, if the real Charmin Bears started dancing that dance, it would be interesting to see. SNLHer Charmin Bears skit is about accepting that sometimes her bear son doesn’t want to go to college to study the art of toilet paper, and that’s okay.

While this is a premise that no one could have seen coming, it was fun watching Thompson and Teller’s dynamic as father and son. Check out the Charmin Bears sketch below: Miles Teller and Bowen Yang Dance to Lizzo in Charmin Bears Sketch
