Millions of Android owners receive huge free ‘AI assistance’ upgrade that instantly boosts their smartphones

MILLIONS of Android owners have secured a free upgrade to their At a Glance widget, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to better provide information to help users run smoothly.
The home screen widget has not only been given a visual makeover, but now also provides more helpful details about user events, travel and local weather.
in one opinion Yesterday, Google said: “The Assistant At a Glance widget uses AI to bring helpful information like highly accurate weather alerts, dynamic travel updates and reminders of upcoming events to your home screen – right when you need them.”
At a Glance uses data from apps on your device, such as an airline app or a weather app.
It’s on the lock screen, home screen, and Always On Display, so information and updates are always easily accessible.
It saves users from searching their library for a specific app.
When traveling, the widget can now show users the exact terminal where their luggage is waiting.
And it shows at a glance whether Android owners need to take an umbrella with them on the way out.
The widget isn’t entirely new, but the new features have greatly increased its usability.
It’s also available on some of Google’s wearable devices, such as the Pixel Watch, which also tells users departure time, calendar events, and commute time.

With Lookout, Google is introducing the ability to ask questions about images by voice or input, which should help make media accessible for people who are blind or have low vision.
However, for smartphone owners, the feature is only available on the Pixel 3 and later, and only on devices running Android 12 and later.
Some Android owners haven’t received the update yet and don’t know why.
Although Google has started rolling it out, it may not have arrived on your phone just yet.
You can try restarting it, but ultimately patience is the key.
