MMA star Mauro Chaulet ‘shot dead’ after violent altercation with police

An MMA fighter has reportedly been killed after a violent confrontation with military police in Brazil.
Mauro Chaulet was shot dead in the city of Porto Alegre, according to the local news agency Radio Guaiba.
The alleged incident came after a disagreement with a military police officer who was said to be off-duty at the time.
Chaulet’s companion and the military policeman are said to have been shot in the alleged altercation.
However, both reportedly survived the alleged incident, which took place last week.
The police officer is said to have been taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery but survived.
Chaulet was reportedly represented by MMA management company Team Goat Management.
A TGM Instagram statement following the reported incident said: “Sadly today we lost another great human being, victim of the brutal violence in Brazil that is repeated every day.”

Chaulet has 13 wins and nine losses on his professional MMA tally.
His last three fights have all ended in defeat, the last of which was at the Cage Fury Fighting Championships in May 2022.
