Morrissey to ‘Showcase’ Songs From Unreleased New Album in Las Vegas

Morrissey has revealed that his previously announced residence in Las Vegas will “recommend” songs from his new unreleased album, Bonfire of teenagers, was completed over a year. After releasing his last three albums through BMG, Morrissey remains unsigned and has no label partner. Bonfire of teenagers, produced by former Grammy producer of the year Andrew Watt. Watt invited two frequent collaborators and close friends, the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and the band’s former guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, to play at the sessions.

In May 2021, Morrissey said the album was complete and “available to the highest (or lowest) bidder”, in reference to his lack of contract with the label. He is also enamored that it is “the best album of my life”. Recent shows in the US have seen the return of longtime guitarist/composer Alain Whyte, who hasn’t toured with Morrissey since 2009. Whyte has replaced longtime guitarist Boz Boorer, who was absent for unknown reasons.

The new track received a co-sign from Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, who also worked with Watt, Smith and Klinghoffer on his latest solo album, Earthling. Last December, Vedder told a small group of journalists at a Earthling listening session Bonfire music “is some of the best Morrissey I’ve heard since it’s the greatest Morrissey.
