Mother and child rescued from house fire in West Philadelphia

Witnesses told Action News that a mother was holding her five-month-old child out of a third-story window as fire ravaged her home.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A mother and her child were rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at their West Philadelphia home.
The exploit happened on Farson Street, near Race Street, just after 5am on Saturday.
Witnesses told Action News that a mother was holding her five-month-old child out of a third-story window as fire ravaged her home.
The fire brigade arrived just in time to save her.
The Philadelphia Fire Department is now investigating what started the fire.
