Mother’s Day gifts that show Mom you care every day

I don’t quite believe that mothers want more. It seems like the best thing you can give Mom is some degree of consistency. In fact, consistency can be a love language. Here are ideas for both gifts and experiences that can make Mother’s Day feel like it only happens once a year. These are brands and services you can return to LA, or ideas for wherever you live.

The Artha membership is a great gift because it allows any mom to book services in a club she already belongs to. Guest cards are also available. I recommend paying for the whole year. Artha is a wellness membership that includes unlimited services and sessions in the monthly fee. Yoga classes, meditation sessions, infrared saunas, cryotherapy, float chambers: These are the treatments you want after your workout (what’s with kids?) or to relieve stress. Any member can easily book services through Artha’s mobile app. Additional rates apply to treatments including massage, cold facials, T-shock therapy, contouring and endodermal (body contouring) light. The Hollywood location is open and the Studio City location is coming soon.

Plan a dinner date with other moms

The overwhelming desire I hear from mothers is that they want to spend time with other mothers. I suggest to book in advance and get a free dinner. Think about planning multiple things to make it one consistent thing.

Grandmaster Restaurant is a pretty Hollywood spot without pretentiousness. And, of course, since it’s part of the Grandmaster Recorder studio, the music is impeccable.

Chifa at Eagle Rock serves Chinese and Peruvian food, family style. And the staff really feel like family! The restaurant opened in 1975 and is still owned and operated by founder Wendy Leon (also known as @popowendy) and her family, including Grand Opening founder Humberto Leon.

grá in historic Filipinotown known for its sourdough pizza, natural wines, and seasonal menus. The white pizza with pistachios, mozzarella, ricotta and honey is a delight and the space – airy and light, with great seating indoors and outdoors – is perfect for dinner with best friends.

1010 Wine & Events in Inglewood, the city’s “first and only pub,” has a menu that ranges from grilled to steamed mussels.

A wide range of spa treatments

Spa treatments, always. Make it really special by buying a pack and even scheduling a treatment for Mom when she’s ready. Here are my top two spas:

Desuar Spa in DTLA is a private day spa with skin and body treatments. Founded by certified esthetician and medical technician Deisy M Suarez, Desuar Spa is a true oasis of relaxation. (The Hollywood location is opening this summer.)

Arcona Studio in Beverly Hills, founded by esthetician Chanel Jenae, is known for Radiant treatment on the red carpet. My personal favorite? Clean oxygen treatment method, combined with organic fruit enzyme treatment method. The spa is really relaxing and you can also check out Arcona’s product lines.

Queen is both an innovative botanical shop in Mid-Wilshire and an e-commerce site. The founder of Amorette Brooms converted her storefront from a jewelry store to a botanical store amid COVID-19 and continued expansion. Now you can buy small to large plants and quality soil – or gift cards so mom can buy what she wants. Make sure to follow the store on Instagram as it also has pop-ups around the city. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

A pair of high-quality headphones for listening to music, podcasts, or walking and relaxing.

I tested this pillow for a couple of weeks; It has a rubber core that helps keep the pillow from collapsing and is both plush and sturdy. Fabric blends keep you cool at night.

Tiempo de Zafra custom creates these super-flying long-brimmed hats from materials from second-hand markets. Perfect for sun protection while working in the garden or relaxing outside. Optional pull chain.

My take on it is that any discerning mom will instantly fall in love with these loose, adjustable waistline quilted pants with multiple pockets.

I own these shoes. They are comfortable, durable and easy to clean; you almost have to remember to take them off before doing errands.

Men’s clothing for Mother’s Day. There’s no question wearing this Rowing Blazers football shirt and looking stylish yet comfortable. Or more traditional with the Croquet Stripe Rugby.

This cleansing balm from AYOND is intended to nourish, dissolve dirt and “refresh the spirit”. Key ingredients include frankincense, sage and babassu oil. It can also be used as an acne or skin-soothing mask.

These waffle sets from Donni are comfortable and come in a variety of colors; increase or decrease the volume. In addition, you can wear that button on errands or go to see friends.
