My $20 home improvement project takes just 3 minutes – it makes a huge difference but people point out a few problems

One handy homeowner knew exactly the DIY trick to make his house look like it’s had a decorative upgrade for $20.

In just a few minutes, he was able to transform his space – but some people were quick to point out potential problems with the tip.

All this DIYer needed to transform his space was $20 and a few minutes of his time

“Here’s a $20 DIY job you can do in under three minutes. Try it,” said half of (@shopboyzs).

The self-proclaimed funny guy wanted to replace his outdated gold door handles and rusty door hinges.

The handyman drilled until the old knob came off the bathroom door.

He then set about removing the screws on the hinges of the same door.

The old has been replaced and the new introduced to create an elegant and upscale look.

And he was able to do it for just $20 total.

He replaced the rusted hinges with a set of black colored hinges and used them Defiant’s aged bronzed hallway and closet door handles which sold at Home Depot for $12.97.

The knobs were described as easy to install and received nearly 1,000 4.7-star reviews.

“All the bedroom doors in my house were replaced. They add the perfect accent to the doors and work great,” wrote one happy customer.

“Great bargain for an easy upgrade,” said another DIYer.

The TikToker proudly showed off his final look, which gave the door a much more rustic, chic and modern look.

Still, not everyone thought the affordable door decor would work for them.

“That would take my husband three business years,” joked one follower.

“$20 if you have 15 doors,” another viewer quipped sarcastically about the undoubtedly much higher cost she would incur.

Another follower knew this wouldn’t work for her home.

“If you have a newer house, I’m sure you’re right. But my time capsule from 1962 makes every simple task a million times more difficult,” she said.

“Not if my doors are from 1910,” said another follower, who understood that this isn’t feasible in her space.

He found some fans who were impressed with the affordable home makeover.

“I just did that. The black hardware looks good,” said one impressed follower.

“Really looks a lot better,” another follower agreed.

“And here I was, taking off all the hinges at once and struggling to hold the door up to put new ones on! This is now common practice!” exclaimed a grateful viewer.

“Lol, yeah, one thing at a time,” the TikToker replied.

“Amazing,” was all another follower had to say about the upgrade.
