My £35,000 Land Rover Discovery was stolen from a car dealership while it was waiting for an MOT – I’m devastated

A WOMAN was left devastated after her £35,000 Land Rover was stolen from a car dealership while awaiting MOT.
Tracey Holmes, 47, bought the expensive engine four years ago and always took it to the Stratstone Land Rover dealership when it came time for a routine check.

But Tracey was shocked when she received a call saying her car had been hijacked from the site.
The Stratstone customer, who uses the car daily for her work in Middlesbrough, said she was both “stunned and devastated” by the incident – and shared a desperate plea on social media for the safe return of her car .
Cleveland Police confirmed they were called to reports that a black Land Rover Discovery was stolen in the early hours of Tuesday morning and said the investigation is ongoing.
Tracey said she brought the car to the Preston Farm site around 4pm on Monday and left it overnight before driving to Hull for work the next morning.
Tracey told Teesside Live that she handed in the car and signed the key before leaving the site.
She said: “I was in Hull [on Tuesday] and just after 10am I received a call from their customer relations. He said, ‘Can you tell us where you parked your car?’ I explained where I had parked it on their forecourt.
“I said I don’t think it will be there now because the lady told me they were moving it to a safer compound at the back. I said, ‘Why, what’s the problem?’ He said, ‘Your car was stolen.'”
She added: “I honestly thought I was being pranked. I really did.”
Tracey claims she was told her car was not taken to the secure grounds of the dealership after being informed.
And she claims she had “no empathy” from the dealer and received no apology.
Tracey explained: “I was stunned but I was devastated. You put your car in a garage to keep it legally on the road and then you get a call to say it was stolen while it was being placed in your hands.”
Tracey thinks the dealership should provide her with a replacement car while the incident is being dealt with.
And she’s concerned about lost income because she can’t commute to work.
She added, “I don’t want anything flashy — I’ll have anything you give me that has four wheels and works!”
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “We have been called to reports that a black Land Rover Discovery was stolen from the Stratstone Land Rover dealership in Stockton in the early hours of April 25. The investigations are ongoing.
“Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting reference number 078056.”
When asked for comment, car dealership Pendragon’s headquarters said: “We have been made aware of this incident and are working closely with local police to further investigate the situation.”
The Sun has reached out to Stratstone Land Rover for comment.

It comes after shocking dashcam footage showed the moment a stolen police car skidded off the road and crashed into a ditch.
Meanwhile, a delivery driver watched in horror as her car was stolen while she stood just meters away.
