My neighbours peer into my garden from their balconies & I hate it… so I put up a 6ft privacy fence to spoil their fun

A SAVVY homeowner found the perfect solution to stopping nosy neighbours peeping into her garden.

Lacy Lovell, a self-professed DIY queen, was tired of dealing with a lack of privacy and decided to build herself a 6ft fence – here’s how you can do the same.

In a video posted on TikTok by @Reclaiming_Lacy, the design whizz showed off her new boundary line.

Lacy, who prides herself on her DIY skills, said: “So as you can see all of my neighbours’ second story balconies look right down into my yeard.

“I hate it.

“I have a 6ft privacy fence everywhere except for the section around my parking pad.

“So much better.”

This comes as another woman has revealed how she made her very own DIY privacy fence on a budget.

Scarlett explained that she wanted more privacy in her garden so decided to give the space a quick and easy glow up, without having to splash too much cash.

She proudly shared the finished look and later confirmed: “So we ordered 52 treated battens 19 × 38 x 4260 and 5 posts at 45 × 2.400 and it totalled £165.08 with delivery.

“They’re spaced about 20mm apart, we used a spare piece of wood to make sure all of them were spaced equally.”

She also added: “We did check with our neighbour first though and they were fine with it, plus fences can go to 2m and ours were only 1.6m.”

Meanwhile, one mum has revealed that she was quoted over £10,000 to build a privacy fence in her back garden – so she also did it herself.

Costing her just £600 in total, it’s no surprise that Celene was thrilled to have saved around £9,400 on her DIY job.

And, another man has shared his step-by-step guide on how to build a bog-standard 6ft privacy fence on the cheap.

Plus, a mum-of-two has shared how she created a privacy fence in her garden without compromising on any natural light.

It is important to check whether or not you will need planning permission before building a privacy fence.
