Jennifer (@5mingardener) shared recently One video shows her followers tips to keep birds and squirrels from pestering the tomatoes in her garden.

In the clip, she notes that one of her tricks “is asking you to bring out the Christmas decorations.”

Showing a screenshot of an item on Amazon, Jennifer explains that you’ll want small transparent canvas bags with drawstrings.

“You can buy 100 for about $8 and they’ll cover you,” she says.

The bags she showcases in her video measure 4 inches by 6 inches and are made by a brand called Volcanic for $7.91.

Jennifer says she likes to pick the berries when they’re still a bit green, “when they’re just starting to ripen.

While showing the berries, the text on the screen displayed on the clip made it clear: “Pick when they are starting to ripen but not fully ripe”.

“This way, I get them before anything thinks they’re delicious,” she says.

“They’re in, they’re ripe and they’re great.”

The sneak part comes in when you bring out your red Christmas decorations to distract the pests.

“Last but not least, fool them with Christmas decorations,” advises Jennifer.

“By the way, they think that anything that is red and hanging from these vines is not good.”

The video of the garden hack has been viewed more than 5,000 times.

“So clever,” commented one user.

“That last one was brilliant,” someone added a smiling emoji.

“I just want them to stop pooping on my tree lol,” another interjected.

Jennifer replied laughing at their admission.
