My toddler likes sticking things up her nose – my mom hack saved us a trip to urgent care, it worked so well

One TODDLER mother said she avoided the cost of an urgent care visit thanks to a simple trick she found online.

After putting a piece of food up her nose, her daughter took it upon herself to get it out.

TikToker and self-proclaimed “hair tie toddler mom” Amanda Schwartz (@amandaschwartz730) wants her co-parents to know how easy it can be to remove a foreign object stuck in your child’s nose.

“This mom hack saved me and my toddler a trip to the ER last week, and if you haven’t heard it you need to listen,” she said in the video.

Like so many curious little ones, her daughter poked something up her nose while enjoying a slice of pizza.

“I grab a flashlight, look up her nose and there’s some of her pizza in there.”

While Amanda initially planned to get some tweezers, lay her daughter down, and try to pull out the food, she had concerns about this method.

“I thought, ‘Hmm. I better not do this. I don’t want to keep shoving it up her nose because I don’t know how big that is.'”

That’s when she discovered the useful hack online.

“I tried it and it worked straight away. You have to do that.”

Start by plugging the nostril that has no food in it with one of your fingers, then blow into your child’s mouth.

“The air will rise and the food or the pebble or whatever it is will shoot out of the nostril it’s stuck in.”

Amanda said she wished she would take video to prove how well it worked.

“It took two tries because it partially came out the first time and I couldn’t quite get it, then it shot out the second time. It was a big piece of cheese.”

Two days later, when her daughter knew how well the trick worked, she was back at it and was successful.

Viewers were grateful for the tip, with many saying they’d already done it themselves.

“TikTok University is back at it,” one person wrote.

“I’ve been doing this for years! Works so well!” added another.
