FOUR men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was found dead with gunshot wounds and head injuries.

The 18-year-old died in hospital on Tuesday after being spotted near a canal in the Nechells area of ​​Birmingham in the early hours of this morning.

Three 19-year-old men and a 33-year-old man are all in custody awaiting questioning, police confirmed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “An 18-year-old man was discovered with head injuries on a towpath off Mount Street just after 12.15pm on Monday.”

“He was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away on Tuesday.”

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time and we will do whatever we can to support him.”

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes added: “A young man with life ahead of him has tragically passed away and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time.”

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police on 101 and quote the July 3 reference number 64.
