While we’re still waiting for more big news One piece There have been a lot of rumors and gossip on official channels about the new Netflix live-action adaptation of One piece, which was the focus of Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022.
One piece was first announced in January 2020, but there were no details on who is in the cast, an official synopsis, and when the series will hit Netflix. Instead, it was only revealed that the series is officially in the works and will be supported by Netflix. This was really great news for fans of the anime series, as some fans were dying to see the anime adapted into a live-action version.

Netflix’s One Piece is coming in 2023
Netflix announced through Eiichiro Oda that they are hard at work on the eight episodes and One Piece will be coming to Netflix soon. Below we shared Oda’s letter to fans.
on January 30, 2023, Netflix confirmed that the One piece The live-action series will be released in 2023. Unfortunately, we don’t have an official release date for the Netflix original series just yet, but the fact that Netflix has confirmed One Piece will be out this year is excellent news. We usually have to wait one to three months before the release date before Netflix reveals any information to fans.
At the moment we are in expectation One piece will be released sometime in the second half of 2023. Of course, it’s possible we could see the series sooner, but as we’ll get to in a moment: Production didn’t wrap up until August 2022. It will likely take Netflix at least 10 months to complete the season. So at the earliest One piece could be released in July 2023.

Production is said to have taken place in South Africa from February 2022 to August 2022. As part of the Geeked Week celebrations, Netflix released a video that offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the truly massive sets and the making of the show.

Steven Maeda is showrunner, writer and executive producer of the series. Matt Owens is also credited as a writer and executive producer. Tomorrow Studios, Shueisha and Netflix will be collaborating to produce this live-action series. You may know Tomorrow Studios because this production company is also behind the upcoming Netflix live-action series. Cowboy Bebop. And of course, the manga series’ author Eiichiro Oda has signed on as executive producer.

The first season of One Piece will consist of 10 episodes
According to Netflix, the first season of the live-action series will consist of 10 episodes.
What is One Piece about?
Netflix’s One piece is based on the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, who wrote and illustrated the manga. The series tells the story of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy is on a quest to become the Pirate King and find the treasure called One Piece.
As of March 2023, there are more than 100 volumes of the manga still ongoing. Who knows how long the series will last?
Many of the volumes and chapters were for the One piece Anime series that ranks among the most popular anime series in the world. There are currently more than 1,000 episodes One piece Anime, and hundreds of episodes are currently streaming on Netflix.
Netflix hasn’t released an official synopsis, but the live-action series is based on the manga. So the plot will likely be similar. As soon as Netflix releases an official synopsis, we’ll let you know.
