Netflix users cheered after the “wild take” in new Netflix movie Heart of Stone.
Netflix viewers watch heart of stone were taken completely by surprise by the choice of costume for a character.
The new spy thriller, which hits theaters on Friday (11 August), stars Gal Gadot as an international agent who must protect an artificial intelligence system from falling into enemy hands.
Her attempts lead her to Senegal, where she finds herself in danger and being pursued by a group of locals who have been bribed by the film’s villain, Parker (Jamie Dornan).
Here, many viewers noticed that one of the locals following Gadot’s character was wearing something they weren’t expecting: a 2009/10 Middlesborough FC shirt.
“How the heck did that happen?” asked one stunned fan, adding, “I just saw the new @GalGadot movie and a fucking Boro fan tried to kill her!!!”
Another called it a “wild take” and explained: “I wasn’t expecting to see an old @Boro shirt in #HeartOfStone.”
One viewer said they had to “rewind to double check” if it was indeed a Middlesborough shirt.
“Just watched heart of stone on @NetflixUK, and a random mercenary just casually wearing an old @boro top,” they wrote.

The film comes days after it was reported that the third Wonder Woman film would not go ahead, despite Gadot’s claims to the contrary.

In December 2022, just days after Gadot expressed excitement at returning as a superhero character, it was announced that DC would not be continuing development of the franchise.
The news landed after James Gunn and Peter Safran stepped in as bosses of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The Hollywood Reporter claimed that editing the film “didn’t fit into the studio’s plans.”
Gadot, who initially said she felt “empowered” by the decision, then claimed so in an interview with ComicBook.com: “What I heard from James and Peter is that we are going to develop one wonder woman 3 together.”

She explained this in a recent interview Flaunt Magazine during advertising heart of stone ahead of the SAG-AFTRA Hollywood strikes: “I was invited to meet James Gunn and Peter Safran and what they told me and I quote: ‘You are in the best of hands. We will evolve wonder woman 3 with you. [We] I love you as Wonder Woman – you don’t have to worry.’ The time will tell.”
However, diversity reports that there are no active plans to develop a new Wonder Woman film and that there has never been a definitive discussion with Gadot about returning as a character.
This has caused a lot of confusion, with many fans wondering if either Gadot or Gunn and Safran were being dishonest about the future of the project.
