Netflix’s Cyberpunk 2077 anime will be shown off in June

More than a year has passed since the scandalous debut of Cyberpunk 2077 flooded with titles. Although the drama surrounding its debut has dropped off in recent months, its impact still lives on, as its buggy release is still the first thing that pops into people’s minds when they think about Cyberpunk 2077. Because of this, many may have forgotten that developer CD Projekt Red has revealed an upcoming anime series based on Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020.

As it turns out, this series, which will be coming to Netflix at an unspecified date, is still in the works all the way through and it will appear at Netflix’s upcoming Geeked Week 2022 event in June. The series, name is, has a name which is Cyberpunk: Edgerunnerswill last for ten episodes and according to the original plot synopsis, the series will feature a young man turned cybersecurity mercenary known as “Edgerunner”.

How is the story?

Interestingly, this series features some notable talent in the form of Studio Trigger, the animation company known for works like Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academy. At least, this means Cyberpunk: Edgerunners there should be a lot of visual polish no matter what the story is about.

With Geeked Week 2022 approaching, fans will soon have the opportunity to learn more about a series that hasn’t had too much news surrounding it. Hopefully the anime will get much better Cyberpunk 2077 did at launch. But even if it didn’t impress during Geeked Week, Netflix still has plenty of news regarding other video game adaptations for those interested. Adaptations to be shown include an upcoming live-action series based on Resident Evil as well as the second season of The Cuphead Show. However, if you’re not into video game adaptations, Geeked Week can still offer at least something worthwhile.
