Nevada Paper Reaches Out In Search Of Even One Pro-Democracy Republican

It’s a piece of the Nevada article, looking for that special someone, with some specific qualities, but it’s not in the personal section, or asking for help – even though it’s a request for a Ideal candidate for an important job. All the editors are looking for is a Republican – well, more than one would be fine, but even one would be a starter – someone they could endorse, who wouldn’t. must be an active threat to American democracy.

That would be easy, wouldn’t it?

Obviously not.

The Las Vegas Sun editorial board says:

“We have endorsed Republicans in the past and will likely do so again in the future. However, as we survey the Republican candidate field across the state, we are struggling to identify those who are not an active threat to American democracy or political institutions. government has maintained our republic for 250 years. ”

Granted, 2020 Republican Party foundation, hosted by Ballotpedia here, can be summarized as “RNC enthusiastic support” [former] President Donald Trump,” with the assurance that they still hold onto their 2016 policy positions is almost an afterthought, making the party’s current priorities very clear.

However, the editorial concern is that “of the top five Republican candidates for governor of Nevada, each of them has a record of both supporting and contributing to Big Lie. ,” should be everyone’s concern.

There really can be an entire political party whose sole criterion for electoral viability is the willingness to lie about a bygone election, to appease the man’s ego. Sun refer to as “demigods without their powers?”

We have certainly seen Republicans reject Donald Trump, and support him and his cult. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) come to mind, both serving on the January 6 Committee. However, both have remained in office, with one having vowed not to run for re-election and the other facing key challenges that Trump has backed.

On the list of new candidates, what is a viable option, who can be trusted to choose the country instead of the cult leader?

Well, if that person is anywhere in the state of Nevada, please let them know that there is an editorial board out there looking for them, looking for a reliable conservative.
