New Aquaman Trailer Focuses on Hero’s Baby Boy and Amber Heard’s Mera MIA

The trailer calls the film Aquaman’s “last stand,” amid a major shakeup at DC and Warner Bros. when it comes to their superhero films.
With tickets on sale today, Warner Bros. has released a new trailer Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom … once in which the star is almost completely omitted Amber Heard.
The focus of the new footage is primarily on bonding Jason Momoas Arthur Curry has given birth to his baby boy named Junior. The trailer begins with the couple looking at fish in an aquarium while Aquaman tells his son that they have “special” powers that allow them to communicate with the ocean world.
The baby is also the key Black Manta (Yahya Abdul Mateen II) must break another big bad out of prison as part of his ongoing mission to “Kill Aquaman.”
“After failing to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta is still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death and will stop at nothing to take down Aquaman once and for all. This time, Black Manta is more formidable than ever, wielding the power of the mythical Black Trident, unleashing an ancient and malevolent power,” reads the official synopsis. “To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former king of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must put aside their differences to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family and the world from irreversible destruction.”
Despite so much focus on family, Aquaman’s partner Mera is almost entirely a missing person from the trailer. Only the eagle-eyed will notice her running towards her burning house from a distance; Otherwise it will not appear and will not be mentioned at all.

This came after Heard testified during her defamation trial with her ex Johnny Depp that her role was in the film “very reduced”, She claimed she “fought really hard to stay in the film” and said: “They didn’t want to put me in the film.”
Director James Wan apparently confirmed her reduced presence in the sequel, which was revealing EW in a recent cover story that the film will “always be about” Aquaman and his brother, Patrick Wilson Orm.
While he said the first film was “Arthur and Mera’s Journey” and a “romance-action-adventure film”, this one was intended to be a “bromance” – before concluding: “We’ll leave it at that.”
The film – which is also referred to as “Aquaman’s Last Stand” in the trailer – will be released in theaters on December 20, 2023.
