New Fortnite feature will reportedly unlock NPC Commands

A notable Fortnite leaker claims that Epic Games will soon be adding a new feature that unlocks NPC commands for players.

NPCs, or characters, came to Fortnite in December 2020 in the Chapter 2 Season 5 update, offering players new quests on the map.

Initially, users could interact with up to 40 different characters, although this number has fluctuated over time.

As of now, about 30 NPCs remain in the game offering quests, loot, and various services for those who want to invest more into the experience.

Should the recently leaked details prove correct, Fortnite players will soon be given additional ways to interact with characters.

Known Fortnite leaker HYPEX claims an NPC command feature is coming to Fortnite at some point “soon”.

Apparently, once the rumored update goes live, players will have the ability to command characters to perform tasks at the touch of a button.

What these tasks may entail remains a mystery at present. However, HYPEX noted that the command wheel itself could have a lot in common with Fortnite’s emote wheel.

It’s also not clear when exactly Epic Games plans to roll out the new gameplay feature.

Fortnite leaks have become a regular occurrence over the years, thanks in no small part to data mining.

Another leak, for example, suggests that an unannounced third collaboration with Arcane will add Mel to the popular online title.

As players await news of Fortnite’s alleged NPC commands and other leaks, the recently released 9:30pm update added new content to the mix.

The Prime Shotgun counts as one such addition, whose post-reload damage boost proves quite effective in combat. At 9:30 p.m., new summer packs and skins also came to the item shop.
