Untold: Hall of Shame
Victor Conte’s name is synonymous with the biggest doping scandal of all time, which shook the sporting world and captivated top athletes such as baseball star Barry Bonds and track and field legends Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery.
For 16 years, Conte has sworn that BALCO Laboratories, his Bay Area-based supplements and nutrition company, has never engaged in illegal performance-enhancing drugs.
But in 2000 he turned to the dark side and became the go-to for athletes in search of steroids, fame and world records.
The film features interviews with several of Conte’s notable former associates — including Montgomery and the anti-doping and IRS agencies that helped land him in jail after a 42-count indictment — and provide harrowing testimonies while the legend around one of the sport’s most notorious names continues to unfold.
