New Pokémon Violet And Scarlet Trailer Reveals Four-Player Co-Op, New Legendaries, And More

The Pokémon Company has released a new trailer for Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet, revealing the new Professors, four-player co-op abilities, new Legendaries, box art for the two games, and more.

It also reveals that Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will be coming to Switch on November 18th. On this day you can choose between the three starters: Fuecoco, Srigatito and Quaxly. They’ll likely be given to you by Generation 9’s new Professors (yes, plural): Professor Sada if you’re playing Scarlet (left), and Professor Turo if you’re playing Violet (right).

You can see them in action in the trailer below:

Shortly after their introduction, the trailer reveals that Scarlet and Violet will feature four-player co-op, a first for the Pokémon series. However, it won’t just be limited to online battles like in previous games – it seems that we’ll be able to explore the region with other players. Throughout the trailer, we get glimpses of returning favorites and new Pokemon like Pawmi, Lechonk (great name), and Smoliv.

Also, we see what appears to be very Pokémon Legends: Arceus-style detective play and also monster catching.

The trailer ends with the reveal of the two most important legends of this generation: Karaidon, the red dragon-like Pokémon that will live on Scarlet’s box art, and Maraidon, the purple dragon-like Pokémon that will live on Violet’s box art. Both seem to live off the coast of this region, high up on some cliffs in the ocean.
