Release is probably a long way off, but new documents are giving us more details than ever.

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Bethesda Indiana Jones game.

What we already knew – Indiana Jones

The Indiana Jones game doesn’t have a name yet, but we first saw a teaser in January 2021.

However, the Xbox June Showcase was skipped and we haven’t seen it in two and a half years at this point.

Todd Howard, who is currently working on Starfield, is executive producer and said it will be a “mash-up” of different genres.

What game will it be? – Indiana Jones

When we hear Indiana Jones, we expect an action-adventure, but that’s not revealed yet.

According to Howard, it will be “unique: It’s not just one thing, on purpose.”

“So it does a lot of different things that I and the guys at Machine Games wanted to do in one game. So it’s unique.”

Machine Games developed Wolfenstein: The New Order and The New Colossus, so we expect it to appear in first-person.

What We Know About the Story – Indiana Jones

We know the game will have a whole new story that has never been told before in the movies or games.

Part of it will be set in 1937, and a map shown in the teaser leads us to believe this will take place in Vatican City.

That means the story likely takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.

The story will begin “at the peak of the famous adventurer’s career.”

The teaser trailer also confirmed locations such as Egypt, Peru and Mesopotamia.

What consoles will Indiana Jones be released on? – Indiana Jones

We found out more about the release of the Indiana Jones game by testing Microsoft/Activision at the FTC.

Phil Spencer confirmed that he wants Indiana Jones to be to Xbox what Spider-Man is to PlayStation.

It seems that Indiana Jones will now be available exclusively for the Xbox console and will also be released on the PC.

Indiana Jones will also be available in Game Pass for console, PC and cloud from day one.

Disney’s Involvement – Indiana Jones

Emails revealed during the trial indicate that Disney will be closely monitoring Indiana Jones’ development.

As with the Star Wars games, Disney is providing “a lot of feedback” which “extends the schedule tremendously.”

Bethesda also has “a time window in which it has to start the game.”

In summary, the developer and publisher of The Elder Scrolls has much less control over this title compared to original IPs like Starfield.

That means they have to make suggestions, wait for them to be accepted, and then make adjustments based on those responses.
