New U.S. Gas-Export Plant Gets Green Light as Europe Thirsts for LNG

Natural gas exporter Venture Global LNG Inc. said it will build a new multi-billion dollar liquefied natural gas export facility in Louisiana, as demand for US gas exports grows in Europe following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The company said Wednesday that it has secured $13.2 billion in financing and final approval for the Plaquemines project near New Orleans — the first new U.S. factory to get the green light in three years.
