WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardernwho has supported the no-Covid-19 strategy since the beginning of the pandemic, has tested positive for the virus and will stay home for a week.

A government statement on Saturday said Ms Ardern’s symptoms were moderate. It is possible that she contracted the virus from her partner, the New Zealand TV personality Clarke Gayford, who tested positive earlier this month. A post from Ms Ardern’s Instagram account said her 3-year-old daughter Neve had also tested positive.
