Nick Cannon on Ex Mariah Carey: She’s a gift from God
Years after their divorce, Nick Cannon is still gushing about his ex-wife Mariah Carey.
The father-of-12 opened up about his famous ex on The Shade Room.
“Like the biggest? I mean I always talk about it. Then it goes viral and our fans get mad at me. But I was 12 years old with pictures of Mariah Carey on my wall, and that will be my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I’ve ever met,” he said.
He continued, “She’s just always happy and always doing things for others. No matter what happens in life. I thought, “Wow, a person can really act like that and not allow negative energy into their space”… When I found out how remarkable she was, this woman wasn’t human. She is a gift from God.”
Mariah and Nick married in April 2008 after a six-week romance at Carey’s private home in the Bahamas. Three years later, they welcomed fraternal twins, a son named Maroccan and a daughter named Monroe. In 2014, the couple stunned fans when they called it quits after six years of marriage.
