Nike trainers inspired by Back to the Future retail for £47,000

THESE Nike trainers – inspired by Marty McFly of Back to the Future on his hoverboard in the 1989 sequel – are on sale for £47,000.
Just 89 pairs were made for star Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s charity.
The hi-tops are made of gray polyester with a blue speckled rubber sole and side panel that even glows.
Sneaker fans are now rushing to snag their own shoes through the resale market.
The shoes cost more than twice as much as two new Ford Fiestas.
Online retailer Farfetch called them “perhaps the most coveted sneaker of all time”.
They sell a size 9 like new pair – and generously offer free delivery.
Some trainer fanatics pointed out that the shoe’s ankle looks like a mark given to criminals during lockdown.
The 1971 design also appears on the Sotheby’s website in a size 9 at a comparatively low price of £20,000.
