Pikmin 4 is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch July 21, 2023.

Those who can’t wait that long to jump into the highly anticipated sequel can start playing right away.

A free demo for the upcoming game is now available on Nintendo eShop and can be downloaded straight to your console.

However, avid fans who have already played through the demo have noticed a secret benefit.

Once you’ve completed the demo, you’ll unlock a new costume to use in the mobile game Pikmin Bloom.

Pikmin 4 adds a new companion, Oatchi, a rideable character that helps you move your Pikmin.

Your Pikmin team can ride Oatchi to cross difficult spots, and Oatchi can also enter gaps your character can’t reach.

Oatchi are unlocked right at the beginning of the game, so you can play with them in the demo.

To celebrate, you can ride Oatchi in Pikmin Bloom after completing the demo.

The free costume places your Mii on Oatchi for you to ride through the mobile game.

A statement from Nintendo read: “Players who complete the Pikmin 4 demo or play the full game (available July 21st) on the Nintendo Switch system will receive the Pikmin 4 Oatchi Rider costume reward code for use in the Pikmin Bloom App.” for smartphones.

“Dress up your Mii character in Pikmin Bloom to make it feel like you’re riding Oatchi again for the first time!”

Completing the demo also allows you to transfer the data to the full game if you decide to purchase it.
