O.C. cop named ‘detective of the year’ charged with sexting decoy he thought was teen girl

Gregory Daniel Beaumarchais, 43, has been charged with a misdemeanor of molesting or molesting a victim who is believed to be under the age of 18. Beaumarchais, who surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, has been on administrative leave since he was identified as a suspect in the sexting inquiry.
