OL Reign defeat Houston 2-0 taking over 1st place

OL Reign moved to the top of the NWSL standings with a win over the Houston Dash at Lumen Field in Seattle.

SEATTLE — OL Reign moved to the top of the NWSL standings with a win over the Houston Dash at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Veronica Latsko and Jordyn Huitema scored for The Reign (4-1-1).

The first goal came in the 53rd minute when Latsko flicked Megan Rapinoe’s cross behind and out of reach of goalkeeper Jane Campbell.

Huitema’s header went wide of the post in the 60th minute, but the striker scored eight minutes later when she rose from the back post and headed in a Latsko cross.

The Reign became only the second club after Portland to reach 100 NWSL wins.

With the loss, Houston moved up to 1-2-3 in the season.
