Orefield Middle School threat update: Parkland School District in Lehigh County to reopen Monday

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pennsylvania (WPVI) — A Lehigh County school district that was closed for several days this week following online threats will reopen to students and staff Monday.

Officials say a threat has been made against Orefield Middle School online.

A previous email from the principal explained that the district could not provide transportation because the school bus parking garage is near the middle school.

As the period of threat has ended, Parkland School District officials say classes will resume Monday with additional police presence.

The FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, South Whitehall Township Police and Upper Macungie Township Police are still investigating the case.
