Who is ready for Outer Banks Season 3? The highly anticipated third season of the hit Netflix Original teen adventure series premieres in February 2023. It’s time to reunite with all of our favorite Pogues and catch up on what they’ve been up to in Poguelandia!

Outer Banks Season 2 premiered on Netflix on July 30, 2021. It’s so wild that it’s been so long. It feels like we just watched the Pogues try to get ahead of Ward Cameron and Limbrey and find more treasure in the new season. But the adventure must go on.

Of course, fans are getting pretty impatient and anxiously awaiting news Outer Banks Season 3 and the Future of the Netflix Original Series.

How many seasons of Outer Banks are there on Netflix?

There are two seasons of Outer Banks streaming now on Netflix. It’s also great for re-watching if you need something to look at.

Outer Banks season 3 release date

At TUDUM, Netflix’s virtual fan event on September 24th, 2022, it was announced that Season 3 would be released in early 2023, and on January 3rd, Netflix finally announced the release date for the new season! Outer Banks Season 3 will officially debut on Thursday 23 February.

Netflix finally revealed that Outer Banks Season 3 renewal news on December 7, 2021. The official Outer Banks Twitter account shared a video of the cast announcement the long-awaited great news that Season 3 has officially started!

According to a previous Small Screen report, Outer Banks Season 3 has already been renewed on Netflix. The report quotes a source close to the production as saying that the creative team is already working on Season 3 AND Season 4!

Well, and this is assuming the report is correct, and it seems like it’s stumbled upon something given Netflix’s official Season 3 renewal. We were hoping for a multi-year extension, just like Netflix did Bridgeton (for three seasons!) and Virgin River (for two seasons!).

Netflix has also been renewed The Witcher and Cobra Kai before the new seasons were released. So things could change a bit in how Netflix orders renewals. Netflix typically waits at least a month after a new season premieres before announcing the new season. Before the renewal was announced, we were almost six months away from the premiere Outer Banks Season 2.

Netflix renewed Outer Banks for Season 3 just in time for the 2021 holidays. We didn’t expect to have to wait long to find out Outer Banks Season 3 is happening, but it turns out it was worth the wait. The second season was one of the best Netflix shows of 2021. Fans want to see more new seasons. There is so much more to tell.

Has Outer Banks Season 3 Filming Completed?

Outer Banks Season 3 started filming in February 2022! As we previously reported, one of the show’s directors, Valerie Weiss, took to Instagram to share some footage with the cast and let her followers know that filming was about to begin.

According to What’s on Netflix, Outer Banks Season 3 was scheduled to film from February 2022 to August 2022.

On February 1st, Netflix announced that the official OBX3 trailer would be released on Thursday, February 2nd.

Carlacia Grant, who played Cleo in season 2, has been upgraded to a series regular for the new season. Cleo is officially one of the Pogues in Season 3!

On June 23, 2022, Netflix announced the addition of three new cast members Outer Banks for Season 3:

• Andy McQueen as Carlos Singh, “a ruthless Caribbean don on a treasure hunt of his own”
• Lou Ferrigno Jr. as Ryan, “Singh’s top security officer”
• Fiona Paloma as Sofia, “a self-proclaimed pogue who forms a close bond with Rafe”

Outer Banks Season 3 synopsis

Outer Banks Season 3 has a lot of interesting dynamics at play. Obviously the Pogues need to return to the Outer Banks where there will be many questions about what happened.

We also know this is very personal now for John B, Sarah and now Pope. Kie, JJ and Cleo are less interested in getting revenge on the Camerons. There is also the shroud that needs to be found.

At the end of Outer Banks In season 2 we see Limbrey and Big John (John B’s father) make a deal. If Limbrey helps John B and his friends, Big John will find Limbrey’s shroud. Will the Pogues get close to Limbrey? That could be a source of division with Limbrey’s horrific history and how it treated Pope and the Pogues.

We also know that at some point they will move against Ward for the gold and the cross.

There are also several romantic relationships currently in flux. John B and Sarah seem solid, but we can all see the chemistry between JJ and Kie. There’s also some chemistry with Cleo and Pope.

After losing the gold and escaping the Outer Banks, Season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a deserted island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially dubbed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming and the carefree lifestyle of their temporary home. But things quickly go awry for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ and Cleo as they once again find themselves caught in a race for the treasure and literally running for their lives. Broke and far from home, they have no one to trust, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within reach? Or was it all just a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together.

Along with the announcement of the release of the Season 3 trailer, Netflix has released a brand new poster for fans to scream about. The colorful poster keeps up the tradition of key art from the previous two seasons, featuring glimpses of the Pogues in a variety of situations, including at sunset, around a campfire, and what appears to be a tense encounter for JJ. There’s also a shot of John B and Sarah kissing!
