Paddy McGuinness is hosting a new show where celebrities are learning how to walk a tightrope

PADDY McGuinness is hosting a new show on Channel 4 where celebrities learn how to walk a fearsome tightrope.
Hosting Don’t Look Down, the 50-year-old presenter helps six brave stars learn how to cover a distance of 1,000ft and walk 300ft above a London landmark to do Stand Up To Cancer support.
Paddy said: “I’ve been on all kinds of shows but this is definitely the most nerve wracking!
“I’m delighted to be hosting Don’t Look Down, which will undoubtedly be the challenge of a lifetime for everyone involved.
“I can’t wait to get started and see if I can get the team to work up the courage to tackle this ridiculously high and very difficult walk.”
“It won’t be easy for them, but it’s all for a great cause and I hope we raise lots of money for Stand Up To Cancer.”
“Now I’ll practice on the clothesline.”
The five-part series, produced by South Shore, will film them at a summer camp in the Austrian Alps, where they’ll be tutored by the world’s leading high-rope experts.
A TV source added: “Casting producers are currently looking for some big names to take on this exciting challenge, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
“It will really push the boundaries of what has been done so far.”
This comes after two of Paddy’s BBC1 One shows – Catchpoint and I Can See Your Voice – were canceled earlier in the year.
Meanwhile, the latest series of Top Gear was canceled after co-host Freddie Flintoff was seriously injured in an accident while filming last year.
He has also been criticized for the revamped format of A Question Of Sport since taking over from Sue Barker in 2021.
In 2000, Paddy starred in the Channel 4 comedy Phoenix Nights, but his big break came in 2010 as the host of the ITV dating show Take Me Out.
