Pamela Anderson says memoir helped her image, strangers apologize on the street

Pamela Anderson is trying to reclaim her good name and narrative with her new memoir Love, Pamela and documentary Pamela, A Love Story after decades of negative headlines over the leak of a sex tape with her then-husband Tommy Lee.

Now she’s taking her story back and changing the narrative with her new memoir Love, Pamela and documentary Pamela, a love story. These projects followed the widely acclaimed Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy with LilyJames, Sebastian Stan And Seth Rogen.

While the project tried to paint a more sympathetic picture of Anderson through her tumultuous marriage to the Motley Crüe drummer and the theft and release of her infamous sex tape, Anderson wasn’t a fan. So she decided to tell her own story.
All of this renewed publicity, filtered through a very different lens than the sexist aspects of the ’90s, had a hugely positive impact on Anderson’s life and career. she said ell in a new interview that she’s “working more than I ever thought I’d be in retirement!”
She even said that through chance encounters on the street, she began to experience support and positivity, which is a far cry from what she experienced when the story was fresh.
“A lot of people come up to me on the street and say, ‘I had no idea who you were and I’m sorry for how I used to feel about you because I like you now,'” she shared. “I’m just like, ‘What did you think of me before?'”

While she appreciates these more positive interactions, the Barbed Wire Star admitted she hadn’t really paid attention to what the public thought of her in years.
“You don’t really think about it right now,” she said ell. “You’re raising two kids, you’re trying to survive, your heart is broken, you’re trying to fill your life with people and making mistakes.”
“We’re all just trying to live each day. So I guess decades have eluded me,” she continued. “It was nice to come home, full circle.”
The playboy Beauty also spoke today about transitioning from her “wild and uninhibited” style to a “liberating and fun” makeup-free approach. In fact, she enjoys being able to age naturally.
“I think as we get older we all look a little weird,” she said. “And I kind of laugh at myself when I look in the mirror. I’m like, ‘Wow, this is really… what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.

Anderson said for years that others would tell her how to wear her makeup and what style to wear. After her make-up artist Alexis Vogel died of breast cancer in 2019, she decided to take her appearance into her own hands and finally gave up make-up altogether.
The move works too, as Anderson is praised for her fashion sense and style. “When I was younger, I never thought I would do campaigns, especially high profile campaigns,” she said of her recent work. “I’ve always felt like an outsider, a bit rebellious. So I laugh to myself and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’ve been feeling really in the zone lately and accepted by my peers.’”
As for her approach to natural aging and a makeup-free look, Anderson thinks she’s making a “powerful statement.” She said: “This is my look. And I feel like that’s a strong statement because I’m accepting myself a lot more these days, and it feels great.”
