Government spending and fraud are frequent, but rarely face-to-face dance partners like for unemployment payments during a pandemic. A new report adds to the growing evidence of a failure to protect taxpayers.
The Government Accountability Office this week released a review of the Labor Department’s handling of $878 billion in unemployment insurance benefits between April 2020 and September 2022.
