A PASSENGER was stunned after being told this by cabin crew – because he was using the first class lavatories on a busy flight
The passenger explained that they flew home over Christmas when their flight was delayed five hours at the airport and another hour late on the tarmac.
The person took to Reddit to explain that the flight was so turbulent that the seat belt sign was up for the first 30 minutes of the flight.
In the post on Reddit, the traveler said that when the seat belt sign finally turned off, the cabin crew’s trolley blocked access to the second-class bathroom.
They said, ‘Until the seat belt sign goes off, they are [the flight attendants] Blocking the aisle to the second class lavatory in the rear of the aircraft.
“I really needed to pee at this point.”
Not only had they been drinking plenty of water during the delay, but they were also taking medications that caused them to urinate frequently.
They added: “When I saw that the car would be blocking the aisle for a considerable amount of time, I decided to just use the first-class toilet instead.
“[I] wouldn’t have done it if it wasn’t urgent, but it was.”
When the passenger came out of the bathroom, they were met by a flight attendant.
They said: “When I come out of the bathroom, there is a flight attendant waiting for me who looks super p*****.
“He makes a point of blocking the aisle so I can’t come by and basically makes fun of me not being allowed to use that bathroom.
“I apologized and tried to explain my situation but he didn’t have it at all.”
They asked other users on Reddit if they were wrong about using the first-class toilet, but other users were divided.
One person wrote: “Understand why you sniffed in there, I would have done the same but the attendant should have patiently asked that you not use this bathroom again in the future.”
A second added: “No real damage was done.”
But other users saw the situation from the flight attendants’ point of view.
One wrote, “People pay big bucks for first class to have better amenities and services, and someone who doesn’t pay for those amenities and services and uses them is simply stealing.”
Meanwhile, former flight attendant Kat Kamalani revealed economy passengers can use first class loos – as long as they don’t block the galley.
A flight expert also explained that while economy passengers should generally not use the business and first class toilets, this is not a set rule.
