Paul Haggis to stand trial in New York for sex abuse case

Haggis was recently accused of additional sexual misconduct by another woman. On June 19, he was arrested and jailed in southern Italy on charges of sexual assault and aggravated assault after a young woman accused the filmmaker of sexual assault at a local bed-and-breakfast. After charges were brought, an Italian court ordered Haggis to remain under house arrest in a hotel room pending prosecutors’ investigations.
