Penarol vs Cerro Porteno prediction, preview, team news and more

The group stages of the 2022 Copa Libertadores return this week and will see Penarol host Cerro Porteno at the Estadio Campeon del Siglo on Tuesday.

Penarol has struggled to find form in the continental arena this season. They lost 2-1 to Colon de Santa Fe in the opener and then came back to claim their first win of the game with a 2-1 win over Olimpia before losing the next two.

Penarol is at the bottom of Group G with just three points from No. 12. They will try to get the maximum points this week to keep their hopes up.

Cerro Porteno is unbeaten in the first three games of this season’s Copa Libertadores, winning twice and drawing the other. However, they suffered their first defeat in their last match, losing 2-1 to Colon de Santa Fe earlier this month.

Cerro Porteno remains top of the table with seven points from four games. They will be looking to scrap their latest results and return to victory this weekend as they continue their push for the knockout stages.
